Legoland California is a theme park, miniature park, and aquarium located in Carlsbad, California, based on the Lego toy brand. Opening on March 20, 1999, it was the third Legoland park to open, and the first outside of Europe. The park is currently owned by Merlin Entertainments, which took a controlling interest in 2005. A second park in the United States, Legolad Florida, opened in 2011.
The Legoland California Resort currently encompasses the original park, a Lego-themed Sea Life Aquarium (opened in 2008), a Chima-themed water park (opened in 2010, with Chima expansion in 2014) and a hotel (opened in 2013).

Parents will also sleep in ninja style as the king-size bed’s headrest includes a shrine that holds all four elemental weapons.
The LEGO Friends, which focuses on the adventures and lives of five girls: Andrea, Emma, Mia, Olivia and Stephanie.
Using more than 100,000 LEGO elements, the five girls have each been recreated out of LEGO bricks for guests to enjoy. Master Model Builders carefully unwrapped them to join the more than 50 other LEGO models built for Heartlake City including bows, microphones, first place ribbons, ladybugs and carrots. Guests can create their own LEGO models at a building "trough" inside the Heartlake Stables.
LEGO Friends Heartlake City invites kids and families to dance and sing along at Friends Forever Stage, build inside Heartlake Stables and go for a horseback ride on the carousel at Mia's Riding Camp. Guests can also satisfy their sweet tooth at City Park Crêperie with freshly made crêpes before splashing about in the Heartlake Fountain!
The LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens Miniland Model Display.
“Right now, at our secret Model Shop in Carlsbad, Master Model Designer Nik Ehm of our Merlin’s Magic Making team is working on creating six scenes that represent the first 30 minutes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” said Ronchetti. “There are two primary focal points – the more traditional character-driven scenes on the planet of Jakku, and an enormous LEGO® model of the Star Destroyer Finalizer. At 16-feet long, it will be the longest LEGO Star Wars Miniland model ever created!”
